Digital Xrays

Hi to all,

We are going to move into the digital CR world and initially wondered if we could be cheeky enough to use this forum to ask if anyone had a minute to comment on the reader that they are using and the good/bad side of it.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated - it is a big world out there :)

Cheers,

Bernie

Re: Digital Xrays

Thanks Anna,
I had noticed your posts and hoped you may have had CR so we could get your thoughts.
If any one has any brand comments it would be appreciated.
Thanks Again,
Bernie

Re: Digital Xrays

Hi,

We use an Agfa CR system. Quality and reliability are good however the wipe time on the cassette is a little slow (however the newer readers are improved in this regard).

We are happy with it.

Re: Digital Xrays

Thanks heaps,

Agfa have been on our list but support doesn't be very strong in Qld.

Think we will go Fuji thru Radincon unless anyone suggests this may not be a good move!

Bernie :)

Re: Digital Xrays

Hi Bernie,

we use an iCR3600+ from ATX.

For us it came down to space and this was only unit that was wall-mounted. We have a glass dental plate for it so can do dental xrays as well using the same unit. Have had a couple of software issues but the bugs seem to have been resolved with the latest updates.

Their support has been excellent.

Re: Digital Xrays

Hi Bernie,

We have been using our Fuji Prima installed by Radincon for 3 years now and it is a good and reliable system. The only complaint is our basic Prima model is slow with the erase phrase. I believe the newer Prima version or the more expansive Capsula is much quicker. I have used an Agfa system at another clinic prior and I found the image quality appeared better with the Fuji system. I suspect that has got a lot to do with the software algorithm by the supplier too. So unless Agfa had updated or customised their software algorithm for veterinary use, I'd say Fuji is better. Hope that helps.
