Discount items

Hello,

 

We are trying to add discounts to certain products for date ranges. Eg: this month all Hill's Z/d and D/d is 20% off. 

 

I have tried adding the discount for the specified date range >>product>>edit>>discounts>>add

 

However, after adding the discount, it doesn't transfer to the product once I add it to the invoice.

 

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Amanda,

The discounting feature in OpenVPMS works by assigning discounts to product types and products and also to customers and patients.  If they match the discount is applied i.e if the customer /patient has a discount setup that is also setup on the charged product or products product type.

So in short...if we want to add a blanket 20% discount to a product type for a certain time frame, we can't do that without assigning a discount to the patient/customer. So in this example, the applicatino isn't useful for us and we should just apply 20% discount manually to the invoice item?
