Double consult error
Submitted by Guest on Mon, 15/12/2008 - 11:22
Twice today we have had 2 screens open to enable seeing one clients 2 pets' histories simultaneously. In editing the notes for the consult in either one it failed to save and produced the 'may be in use by another user' error.
Is it not possible to use 2 screens in one visit? We were not invoicing on 2 screens just editing history notes.

RE: Double consult error
You can definitely have as many screens viewing the visit (medical records summary) as you like but if you have multiple screens editing the visit and making changes the first one to save the visit will be Ok but if other users try and save their visit after this they will get the error described.
Now if you are both using the consult workflow on the same appointment/task simultaneously which brings up the visit edit dialogue you will get this behaviour also if one edits and saves and the other doesn't edit but still hits Ok to save. If hit cancel will cancel complete workflow so not a good solution. If person only wants to view clinical records then easiest to just hit patient link in summary as takes you straight there. If person entered consult workflow just to enter extra billing then that is an issue as in order to proceed to billing need to move through visit dialogue and click Ok.
We may need to introduce a Skip button on both the visit and invoice dialogue to assist with this issue while we work on a solution to better lock notification and processing.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Tony
