importing daily takings to MYOB
Submitted by Guest on Mon, 24/10/2011 - 16:14
How do I import the daily takings directly to MYOB so that I do not have to do it manually.
(I am sure there is an easy solution..)
Thanks,
Matt McL.
Re: importing daily takings to MYOB
Hi Matt,
I assume you want to take some of the values from the most recent cleared deposit ?
What information woudl you require?
What format and data does MYOB expect ?
With this information it shoudl be an easy matter of writing a export report ...
Cheers Tony
Re: importing daily takings to MYOB
Thanks for your getting back to me Tony.
I will need the following data fields:
Date
ClientName
Itemised Sales - what and amount
Total Sale amount
Total Payment madePayment type (ie Cash, EFT, Amex, Visa,Cheque)
My next question: is it possible for the data from the software to be downloaded into excel?
Thanks,
Matt McL.
Re: importing daily takings to MYOB
Hi Matt,
So you are wanting to replicate all the customer sales and payment information in MYOB instead of just summary information ?
This is not typically how this would be done I believe. As you manage individual customer details , debts, and sales reports in OpenVPMS typically what is only required in MYOB is summary figures for banking reconciliations and general financial reporting. We can develop export reports (yes, csv /excel format) that provide you with non customer specific total receipts (by payment type if required) from your cleared deposits which should equate to deposits you see on your bank statement. From a sales analysis perspective you would most likely do just total customer sales at end of month potentially subdivided by product type or something similiar ?
Cheers Tony

I have done some work importing info into MYOB. It isn't great fun.
You generally need a license or some 3rd party software you pay for and then write code around.
Urgh.
