Integration with Xero or other book keeping programs

Hi all, 

We currently use Xero for our bookkeeping and often have clients paying by direct deposit. We have to check the bank and then receipt off manually at this stage and would like to see the bookkeeping be integrated into OpenVPMS to improve efficiency. Would anyone else be supportive of this being developed? The less admin we need to do the better.

Hi Danielle,

Integration with General Ledger applications like ero has been dsicussed previoulsy and for some customers reports have been developed to allow them to post sales, stock, payments from OpenVPMS to the accounting application.

What you seem to be wanting though is some cross application reconciliation of payments i.e ability to allocate/reconcile a bank direct debit transaction against a customer/debt in OpenVPMS which seems to be  a different requirement.

One way of addressing this maybe using online payments i.e Stripe, Windcave, Bpoint  etc to process these customer payments.  We have a professional subscription development in progress to facilitate this i.e. send a online payment request to a customer via SMS/Email and have one of the above online payment services process it and register the payment automatically in OpenVPMS.  Obviously the payment will then appear in your Xero bank feed less any charges (another thing that complicates reconciliation).

Is this something that may minimise administration of these types of payments ?
