Java 7 EOL April 2015

As this will occur in or during the period through which Openvpms 1.8 will be GA - should be be compiling against 1.8?  What a pain - I noticed you are still compiling against 1.6 which was EOL a while ago and is no longer publiclly updated.  We could still compile against 1.6 and Tomcat7 requires 1.6 or higher - but should we ensure 1.8 compatibility and place 1.6 as a minimum and 1.8 as recommended for better security.

Re: Java 7 EOL April 2015

We can target Java 7 or 8 when the demo site is updated.

Are there any issues for sites running old versions of linux distributions installing Java 8?
