Merge field insertion
I have edited a document (boarding record) which contains merge fields for client and patient and attached it to the boarding record template and it opens fine except the merge fields stay as merge fields and do not link to the client it is generated from. Can someone please tell me what step I have missed to link the fields to the client/patient.

Firstly is this a Word template or a Open Office template ?
Can you supply some details of the merge fields you are adding.
Also if Open Office template did you add the fields you used into the field list found in Insert->Fields ->Other ->Variables->user ?
