Importing data from external sources

Hi Tony,
I am up to the inventory portion of my installation. I don't want to transfer the inventory listing from the old system due to obselete lines and work arounds that have been built into it. I can however get a list of recent products from our wholesaler in a spreadsheet. Is there any way that I will be able to insert this data into the OpenVPMS database without having to manually enter everything?
I can get the following fields.
(supplier code, description, manufacturer, price(ex), nett(ex))
Inputting this data will give me a good start on the inventory. If it is not too hard to import it would probably be easier to add data to the xls before import.
Thanks
Mark
Re: Importing data from external sources
You can utilise the openvpms data migration tool and Kettle to import from any data source including a spreadsheet. Just need to develop the transform to do it using the Kettle Spoon graphical design tool ... A learning curve but not too difficult
Cheers Tony
