Merge Fields

HI
Was wondering if it was possible to get a merge field so that if the person does not have a home number that it will find another number ie mobile and use that. It is just that when i print a Hospital Cage Card and the client does not have a home phone number it just leave the space blank. It would be nice to have a merge field where it look for another number. I have tried putting mobile as the prefered number but this doesn't seem to help.

Thanks
Jocelyn

Re: Merge Fields

Hi Jocelyn,

I thought if you put the Home purpose against any telephone contact (telephone or mobile) it would be returned both in the Summary panel and when you used the party:getHomeTelephone(.) merge field.

On investigating I found this function just looks at telephone not mobile contacts which is definitely an oversight.

I will JIRA a change and fix this for the 1.4 upgrade. Should not be too difficult.

Cheers Tony P.S. I will try and think of a work around in the mean time :-)

Mobile Number

Hi Tony

What would happen if in the Phone Number section (if the person does not have a home number) i put their mobile number. When I practiced doing this it makes it come up on summary panel and also on hospital cage cage. When I asked the implementor about this they said doing this may cause a problem ???

Re: Mobile Number

Hi Jocelyn,

Will not cause any problems except when we implement SMS module which is being discussed and would rely on customer having a mobile phone entry.

Obviously we can do some data migration to fix this at the time ...

Cheers Tony
