'Never Order' box ticking for stock unavailable
Submitted by Guest on Fri, 17/07/2015 - 20:32
We regularly have stock going unavailable and then don't want it coming up on the order every time, requiring every item to be deleted (to give you an idea, at the moment there are at least 12 items that are on short supply). Ticking the 'never order' box doesn't seem to have any effect on it, only if you change the 'critical' and 'ideal' values to zero - this option is quite time intensive and means you have to then change all back to what you wanted when the stock becomes available again. I thought the 'never order' box would be the easiest, but it doesn't seem to work. Anything else I should be doing to enable this option?
Thanks!

Daryl - this behavior (that the 'never order' and 'always order' settings are not used) is documented - see http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.7/product/tabs#stockLoc where it says:
To achieve what you want, can I suggest the following. Since as it says (in the Suppliers tab documentation - just above the above reference):
why don't you just untick the Preferred box for the supplier of the products you do not want ordered.

Hi Tim,
thanks very much, seems that unticking the preferred supplier box will certainly be the easiest option at this point, then at least all the ideal and critical levels can be left as they are and then will come back into action when stock back, and box re-ticked. Thanks!
