Practice contact details on invoices

Hi,

I'm wondering how to change the phone and fax number on our invoices & receipts. I found where they're kept but they're .jrxml files and I haven't used these before. I opened the file and couldn't make head nor tail of it. Any suggestions?

Sandra.

Re: Practice contact details on invoices

Sandra - the standard invoice and receipt jrxml files are set to use letterhead paper with the practice details pre-printed. This implies that you are using tailored versions. Logically these should take the practice address details from the Administration|Organisation|Practice contact details (or possibly from the Practice Location contact details).  So first up, check these to see if they have your new correct phone & fax numbers. If they are correct (and the invoice & receipts are showing the old numbers) then the person who built your system hard coded the phone & fax numbers in the jrxml documents. Although the proper tool to edit the jrxml files is Jaspersoft's iReport (from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ireport/files/iReport/iReport-3.7.6/iReport-3.7.6-windows-installer.exe/download ), as you have found the jrxml files are text and you can edit them with a simple editor like Notepad. So open the jrxml file with Notepad and use Ctrl-F to look for your old phone number and change it to the new one.  Save the file, then use Administration|Templates and edit the Invoice template and click the Upload button to upload your revised jrxml file.

If you cannot find the old phone number in the file, then the jrxml file could have been set to pull in a graphic for the letterhead that contains the address and phone/fax numbers, and you will need to locate and change this graphic.

It is probably worth talking to the person who installed your system.

Hi Tim,

I'd already checked the practice locations and they were all correct, so I followed your directions to edit the jrxml file and it worked.

Thanks for you help!

Sandra.
