Printer setup
Hi,
When printing reminders (Send All) I can use twin paper source printer to print different sized documents existing in the same reminder run (some get cards some get letters). This uses functionality of printer to default to sheet feeder if page size doesnt match.
My question is can I split the printing to two different printers so cards goes through the inkjet and letters the laser . So far cant figure out how to do.
Also the paper tray settings under templates dont seem to make a difference ? Could someone clarify.

Hi Geoff,
I am assuming you have two different templates so selecting a printer by template just requires you to nominate the printer on the printer tab of the template. This allows you to also select a printer per location if you have multiple sites.
In regards tray selection I have also found it is hit and miss on tray selection. On some printers it works fine. On others it works but the selected tray does not match the tray requested. On others no go at all. I think this has to do with the use of generic tray assignments that don't match the tray assignments specific to individual printer drivers, so they are ignored.
I find the best approach is to assign paper sizes in the printer or the driver. If this cannot be achieved (i.e paper type selection required due to multiple types of same size ) define two different printers which use the same driver and printer location but have different settings for tray selection. In fact I tend to create printers name like Office - Tray1 and disable all the other trays in the driver. Seems to be the most reliable approach.
