Problem with Breed lists

Hey guys,

Well it took a lifetime but we are finally on 1.9. The upgrade was from 1.5 (I think) so we have some issues that might be related to the rapid growth spurt.

One particular issue that I seem unable to solve is our Lookups (Breeds and Suburbs particularly).

We have large numbers of inactive suburbs and breeds and they all appear with decatived next to them. Scrolling through them is a problem. Worse then that, they can be selected :-( I'm scrambling to see how many of the deactiovated ones have been used already.

Ive tried toggling the Active flag and it makes no difference.

I've attached a screenshot.

Thanks!

Re: Problem with Breed lists

Bit of work to fix this

Go to ADMINISTRATION

GO to LOOKUPS

Select "Suburb"

Use the REPLACE function to replace a deactivated suburb with the relevant ACTIVE suburb

the deactivated lookup will be deleted and wont be in the list anymore

It will take some time but a trained staff member can do it ...and it only needs to be done once

Thanks Ben,

Good to be home ;-)

Cheers,

Re: Problem with Breed lists

Whilst I'm doing this,

Why did the active field get decomissioned on lookups?

Re: Problem with Breed lists

Its there Matt. To see it, either edit or view the lookup.  To make it show on the select screen, use Active=Both.

Re: Problem with Breed lists

But does it do anything Tim?

In other words if a lookup isnt active, what does it get excluded from?

Cheers,

Matt

Re: Problem with Breed lists

The ability to see inactive lookups while editing arose from the fix for OVPMS-1508.

In hindsight, it could probably exclude all inactive lookups bar the inactive lookup that is being used.

In the meantime, you can suppress them by replacing them with their active counterparts, as Ben suggests.
