In Progress Visits
We have noticed that there is an issue with invoices staying In Progress rather than changing to Completed.
Basically,if you create an invoice to sell an item outside of workflow, finalise, and pay this invoice then the visit it creates on the Patient Summary is In Progress. Then the patient comes in for a visit, (which is entered through Workflow), and when Consult is selected then the previous visit/invoice is still there and is In Progress. This is causing an issue as current invoices are attaching themselves to older invoices under the incorrect day.
I have included an example below, so please refer to the image also......
This account is In Progress after food was purchased. It can clealy be seen that the sale has been completed (i.e. account paid). If another charge was added to this account in two days time (27/7), it will attach itself under the previous date (25/7) with the date it was invoiced (i.e. 27/7). Hence, the account looks very messy.

I tested said behaviour on 1.8 dev and it exists
Test Case
1. Create Invoice via the CHARGE workflow and finalize it on date
2. Change system time to Date + 3
3. Relog into Openvpms
4. Create a visit workflow
5. Confirm that in the visit workflow it displays the last invoice (finalized)
6. Create a new invoice
7 Confirm it attaches to the previous visit.
Basically the issue is that because the the charge workflow creates a In Progress visit the Checkin Workflow checks for that visit and uses it because it is inprogress.

Thanks for your reply. That makes a lot of sense - will this issue be fixed in 1.8? Can anything be done now?

Our workflow to sell Z/D for example:
Workflow -> Worklists -> New -> Select Client and Patient. Click Ok. Click Consult button bottom of screen then click Invoice tab, select the Z/D product, then click Completed. Status is shown as Billed and visit is shown as Completed in Summary. We then CheckOut in the normal way.

Are there plans for the in progress visits to be fixed for the 1.8 release ? We are currently using the workflow checkout as suggested by Yuri but it is cumbersome.

Yes. In 1.8 visits are marked Completed at completion of the Check-Out workflow.

Just to be sure - I believe this discussion was referring to VISITS created by the Invoice workflow - ie create an invoice with a sale of an product.medication - a act.patientClinicalItemMedication is created linked to an act.patientVisit which was marked IN_PROGRESS and never completed despite invoice finalization
