Re OpenVPMS mobile usage and label printing help required

Hi All,

I am helping a mobile vet practice to implement using OpenVPMS onsite.

We have it working well on an Android tablet with a 4g SIM, but she wants to be able to connect to her Epson WF-100 A4 printer and Brother label printer while onsite to be able to print forms and pill labels and I'm not sure how to do it?

We currently have an Epson wifi printer and a Brother mains powered label printer as well as a 4 port router with 4g option. Also have an inverter in her van so we can plug devices into if required, but not sure on the best way to configure it all?

Any mobile users out there using similar configuration that may be able to give me some advice on how you've done it?

Thanks!

Wes

Re: Re OpenVPMS mobile usage and label printing help required

Hi Wes,

If you will have a Wifi 4G router then you can register the printers on Google Cloud print and your OpenVPMS cloud server can be setup to print to these via special drivers loaded on the server.  The printers will be viisble in OpenVPMS this way.   Some delay in printing but general works pretty well.

Cheers

Tony
