Retrieving Microchip on a subform ie StatementItems.jrxml

Just wondering how to go about this 

I tried:

[party:getPatientMicrochip(target.patient.entity)]

Among other attempts but it returns an empty field.

Try:

[party:getPatientMicrochip(.)]
