Saving a HISTORY AS pdf

I'm not sure if this is a WAP ("working as planned").
If I go to print a history, I can select from the drop-down box one of all the printers attached to the OV server, one of which includes "Adobe PDF". In MS Word, Excel, OpenOffice, this allows me to create a PDF rather than a physical print-out.
If I select "Adobe PDF" in OV, OV locks up, forcing a close/re-open/re log-in of Firefox to regain control.
However, if I "Preview" the history at the print dialogue, the page is created in Adobe Acrobat immediately and presented on the screen. I can then save that history to my hard-drive and email it to a specialist. Is that how it's meant to work?
Yuri.

If you use Preview, OpenVPMS generates a PDF internally (or outsources it to OpenOffice if its a .doc or .odt document).
In your case, you are directing the print job to a printer that saves as PDF, which suggests that there is an issue with the printer driver. Is it freely available so I can test locally?

Hi Yuri,
Sometimes those virtual printers (in your case the one named "Adobe PDF" popup windows which don't work well in a webapp context (like OpenVPMS). We use the Preview option as Tim describes all the time to then save as a pdf for sending to fax printers or attaching to emails.
