setting up procedure templates/estimates???
Submitted by Guest on Mon, 09/02/2009 - 15:24
Is there an option for setting up templates or procedures that you can set up on the program to save time doing estimates etc like on cornestone/rxworks, where you select your procedure and it produces an estimate for it and calculates drug volumes/numbers based on the animals current weight.????
Thanks

Re: setting up procedure templates/estimates???
There is options to setup charging templates that you can use in estimation and charging. To add these you create a new product and select template. In the template editing form you can create links to any number of other products and specify quantities.
OpenVPMS currently does not have a facility to automatically calculate quantities based on patient weights and specific medication dosage information. Suggest you discuss and elaborate on this feature with the community so we can create a proper feature request which then can be scheduled to be developed according to community priority ...

Re: setting up procedure templates/estimates???
Hi Tony,
I have now set up the templates, but when the estimate is produced it is adding in Fixed charges to items that dont have fixed charges normally, just and overal charge. Is there any way around this?????????
Cheers

Re: Re: Templates
I am not sure I understand. If you have products associated with a template then when you select that template in estimations or charges it will use the fixed and unit prices in each product and the quantity in the template. If the product has no fixed price then there will be no fixed price component in the estimation or charge ... If there is a fixed price it will be shown. Are you saying a bogus fixed charge is being displayed on a product that had no fixed price listed ?
Cheers Tony

Hi Gerrie,
Yes that is the problem that is occuring with the fixed charges, I followed the jira link you gave me - however I could not work out how the information on the link will solve the problem with the bogus fixed charges on our version of VPMS???? Can you update use to version 1.3 if this version doesnt have the bug???
Thanks

templates
When setting up a template for estimates, there is space for "Visit notes". Now when we did our conversion from RxWorks, all the hx that would automatically be saved (ie info on standard anaesthetic and monitoring and detailed description of desexing etc) now appears in this box. Is there any mechanism to allow this to enter a visit note automatically when the template is billed? Or is there something I have to activate, as it is not currently coming across and I am confused as to why it is there if it does not come across.

Re: templates
OpenVPMS doesn't have the facility yet to bill out a template and automatically enter pre-defined clinical notes in the visit. There is a field to hold this information in the template for data migration purposes only so when the facility is developed this information won't need to be re-entered.
Sorry for confusion.
