Setting up the program
Submitted by C.R.Godfrey on Thu, 19/04/2018 - 11:43
I have installed the basics of package but now need to add in invoicing, estimates, charges etc etc.
Tim G has helped so far but I need to do this independantly.
I am not computer literate at all so need simple step by step instructions.
Another question: the new practice is getting off ground and I have to consider backups, getting access to records when at different sites and cloud access.
A final question - can this program be used on apple computers?
Re: Setting up the program
Hi,
Quite a bit to discuss here.
When you say invoicing, estimates, charging I suppose you are after information on setting up products etc prior to starting to do these tasks or are you after how to do these tasks?
Have you already setup your OpenVPMS server somewhere ?
if so where as this will dictate answers to backup, remote access questions.
When you say cloud are you interested in moving/installing openvpms in the cloud ?
OpenVPMS can be accessed from any device typically as it just requires browser access so will work on any browser on Apple devices. Just need to have network access to the openvpms server and put a specific address in the browsers address bar ..
Cheers
Tony
Re: Setting up the program
Thanks Tony,
I think I have to install some component so I can list my fees and products and so charge for them. Then print out invoices and receipts etc. Tim Gething has been assisting but I dont like to over use his generosity.
As the business gets going I suspect paying someone to work on these IT issues will be worthwhile.

Hi,
You can find people who provide paid support for OpenVPMS here:
https://openvpms.org/support-contacts
Contacting them off this forum and discussing costs and the like are your best bet.
The default installation of Open comes with invoicing/receipting etc already going...you just need to add products.

Reading all of these should help
