Suggested Addition: Medical Records - Body Chart

Hello all, I am not very familiar with openvpms nor its community and have been asked to do some development work for a local practice. As such, I believe it pertinent that when contributing to a community that discussion is always a good place to begin.

The idea behind this tab is to give a visual tool in recording and locating a patients lumps, abrasions, wounds, etc, and to thus give an easy method of following the issues status and history.

The description is as follows.

Patients - Medical Record

New Tab: Body Chart

Function upon opening:

-Patient species silhouette top, bottom and sides displayed, unpopulated list header below displays (columns; number, date, description/s, resolution status)
-Click point on any displayed image
-Number point appears on image
-List populates with row with columns number and date filled. Then prompts for description which can later be altered with an added timestamp. Resolution status can be a drop-down menu populated with options such as 'new', 'current', 'resolved' etc.

Other functionality

-Listed dates can be clicked on to link to relevant appointment notes

EDIT:

    Additional functionality:

    -Dental Chart

    -Body score/weight

I am looking for discussion to changes that may improve this idea and any additional feedback.

I am a developer, but with my limited knowledge of this system any developer feedback will be more than welcome.

Regards,

Harold McIntyre

Re: Suggested Addition: Medical Records - Body Chart

Hi,

Ok, I will givbe it a crack. Keeping in mind I have no technological skills but am involved with specialist, emergency and GP practice.

I like the idea and I ran it past a few vets today and they liked it as well.

Comments:

- Dental Charts have some standardised entries and nomenclature that should be included. What happens when an animal has a repeat dental for example and that tooth that was ok before is now removed? How do these flow over time? Do they have one chart that keeps being modified or multiple charts (i.e. new dental chart for this year's dental gets created from last year's dental chart?).

- Can you add photos of a patient or your own images and then add annotations this way? This would be useful.
