Swedish letters entered via Firefox cause an error

It seems like there is a problem with international characters such as "ö, ä, and å" being entered via firefox. Doing so results in the error: "An application error has occurred. Your session has been reset." This is reproducible via the online demo. I submitted this originally via the feedback link and Tony answered via email, however I didn't know at the time that it was a Firefox-specific problem. Thanks for any help.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your feedback.

I have done some very basic testing and I can add these characters into colours, clinical notes, invoice notes etc without the application error you mention. I also notice on the demo site a number of animal names and clinical notes that include German and Scandinavian characters as well.

Maybe you could provide a step by step on how to reproduce. Once reproduced we can JIRA the issue and hopefully resolve quickly ...

Also, in order for this conversation to be viewable to the whole community it would be good if you registered on the site and posted it as a forum topic. I am sure more users will be interested in the outcome.

Cheers
Tony

Hello, I've installed OpenVPMS successfully (just for trial purposes at the
moment of course) but I have found that it doesn't support international
characters. I need to beable to take notes in Swedish and that includes
the following characters: ö Ö ä Ä å Å . Is there an easy fix for
this? e.g. specifiying an option somewhere in the install process? You can
cut and paste any of those characters into your online demo and you will
get the same result as I do. Something like: "An application error has
occurred, your session has been reset." I would like to continue my
evaluation, but I cannot proceed unless this is fixable.

Thanks!

Re: Swedish letters entered via Firefox cause an error

This is a bug in firefox 3 which is supposed to be fixed in the 3.0.4 version. As a workaround, you can use firefox 2.
