Three column layout rather than two

In these days of wide screens, we could make better use of the total screen real estate by allowing for a 3 column layout rather than 2.

Essentially, the aim is to provide more room so that more can be displayed without having to vertically scroll the screen. For example the Customer|Charges|Invoice Edit window requires only some 610 pixels width for the invoice header items arranged as two columns. If this was three columns there would be less height required for the header - especially if we positioned the Notes field at the end of the three columns and made its initial height (currently 4 lines) a default.properties parameter.

I have had a look through default.stylesheet but cannot find anything related to the number of columns.

Re: Three column layout rather than two

Its hardcoded at present. 2 columns was selected as it works best over all supported resolutions. There would need to be a switch to enable/disable it for specific resolutions. There's quite a few customised layout implementations as well, so these would need to be changed to work for either 2 or 3 columns.
