Trial versus full version
Submitted by pyevet on Mon, 30/06/2014 - 23:41
We have subscribed, but the log on screen says it is a trial version and asks us to subscribe. The number at the bottom of the screen is OpenVPMS 1.7 (5765). How do we let it know that we have subscribed?

Re: Trial versus full version
Mary - when you paid your subscription you should have been sent a file - ours is named openvpms-subscription-2014-09-30.key (because ours expires on 30Sept14). You then use Administration|Organisation|Practice to edit the practice and install the file via the Subscription tab.
I will give the man a kick - and thanks for paying. Regards, Tim G
Re: Trial versus full version
Unfortunately, your subscription process doesn't automatically update your installation to install the key. This has to be applied once received and Tim is right, that has to be sent from admin (me) as a separate process.
Any other users who have the same issue (or who have an older subscription but recently upgraded) can email subscriptions[at]openvpms[dot]org to request a key.
Re: Trial versus full version
Thanks Tim & Peter,
We received the email explaining this. Is the fact that we are using a trial version why I cannot deliver an order? Soraya has also encountered this problem as she has been entering different transactions for customers, patient and suppliers whilst learning how the program works. (Simon has only been playing with the backend)
Regards,
Mary.

Re: Trial versus full version
No - these are unrelated. What error are you seeing trying to deliver the order?
Re: Trial versus full version
It just doesn't work. We have tried several times to deliver the orders we have created but have had no success. The received quantity boxes are greyed out.

Re: Trial versus full version
The received quantities are set when processing a Delivery in Suppliers - Deliveries.
Once an order is Finalised, the only thing you can edit is the Cancelled quantity.
In general, the steps for orders and deliveries are:
1. Create an Order in Suppliers - Orders
2. Finalise the Order
3. On receipt of the goods, go to Suppliers - Deliveries
4. Create a new Delivery, and select the original order to include

You can also press Alt-F1 in the relevant screen to display the online help.

Re: Trial versus full version
Is this a delivery you are entering manually, or one you are receiving via ESCI?
Can you describe the trouble you are having, and what steps you have taken so far?
Re: Trial versus full version
It might be important as well to note which supplier you are configuring this with.
Re: Trial versus full version
I am just making up orders while we play with OpenVPMS. I am entering this delivery manually. These are the steps i am taking when delivering a order.
Suppliers, Deliveries, New, delivery. Select only the products that were received, ok.
That was how I was doing a part order.
Thank you,
Regards Soraya.

Re: Trial versus full version
Did you Finalise the delivery? When you Finalise it, you should see the Received Quantity update in the Order.
Re: Trial versus full version
At the moment I am not able to use OpenVPMS because Simon is still trying to get products working. When he has got it working nicely then I will be able to go through the delivery steps a little better.
