Is anyone using the auditing component?

It's over in the developers forum. I'm not sure how active that is. It notes that there is an auditing service, but it's not quite complete. I'm trying to get an idea of what the current state of that functionality is.

That thread also means that auditing is not available for "IArchetypeService.save(Collection)". I'm not sure what items are Collections... any ideas?
