Confused on subscriptions

Am I correct in my interpretation that *any* usage of OpenVPMS requires a subscription? And any forking of the source would also require a subscription, correct?

Re: Confused on subscriptions

Hi,

I have attached the License text file as reference.

Essentially there are two types of subscriptions. A developer subscription (no cost) and Veterinary Practice subscription (cost per Full Time Equivalent Vet).

The former allows code developers to download and modify the code or utilise the OpenVPMS libraries at no cost but in accordance with the License.

The later applies to the use of the all or part or a derivative of the code in a Veterinary Practice. This would therefore include forking of the source and then utilising the derived product in a Veterinary practice environment.

There is also a clause (14) which deals with non Veterinary application of the code.

I hope this has answered your question. If you need further details please feel free to contact me off list if need be and explain what your are thinking of doing with the project and hopefully we can provide some more detailed responses.

Cheers Tony
