Help with Stock Take Report

Hi,
Trying to get Tony 's stocktake report to work. Downloaded it comes down as an xml file so opened in ireport and saved a jrmxl then attached it as normal to a report template.

Preview however only gives a bank page opening in acrobat when try it from reports. I can view stock nos, under admin/stock location/products but not sure why it wont appear as a report.

Hi Geoff,

I have checked the download and for me it comes down as a jrxml file which is in a xml format. I suggest rather than clicking on link which on your browser may automatically popup a browser window showing the jasper report xml format, right click and select save link as. It should automatically populate the file name as Stock Take List.jrxml.

Not sure why you are getting blank output. What criteria are you selecting in the Report parameters ?

Hi Tony,

No joy getting Stock Take report to work. Downloading on xp pro saves it in wrong format - no idea why. Abandoned xp and got it off a win98 w/tation in jrmxl format. I have transfered back to my win 2000 work station and updated it to openvpms 1.3.

Still at odds with Stock take report though, If I look at stock under administration/Stock location its all listed with stock numbers. Ive attached the template yet the report gives a blank pdf page even if I type a medication name in front of the %.

The Product List report produces a complete preview of the products list with prices without problems.

I wonder if theres something not ticked somewhere in organisation setup but the stock control boxes have ticks in them.

I havent entered a client database as yet but shouldnt think this should effect the S/T report appearing.

[I have reloaded the xp pro w/s with the setup database and have figured how to connnect ireport to the openvpms mysql database so I can see if reports really do work as I play with them (a test database not my actual one). But even setup with only two products the S/T report isnt showing them. Version of adobe reader or settings there in make any difference?]

Any ideas

Hi Geoff,

One thing to check is are the products you are testing associated with a product type. If not the current report query may exclude them. Also check they have a selling unit as the same applies here.

That was it. I haven't catergorized everything into types. Rather than go through the lot I've sussed where the Report query is in irreport and modified it appropriately. Works great and now I have a better idea of how to use irreport so alls good.

I have downloaded the Stocktake jrxml file and uploaded into templates and it appears in Reoprts appropriately and when I runand theh npreview I get 30 pages headed Stocktake report with Product name, Units quantity, actual quality across the top and all blank except for blank lines under the actual quantity. How do i get the products listed? If I try to put anything near the % sign it just reduces the pages and the lines in the document.

What am I doing wrong??

Hi Matt,

I had a look at the template and although it works for me and at another site I have modified the template and uploaded the new template to the web site to see if will rectify your issue.

I think the problem may be font sizes available on the machine and the field sizes not stretching to fit the displayed text so displaying blank.

Download from site again and see if that helps.

I have just tried this stocktake report and it works fine once I added types to my items, however, is it posible to have the stock location listed on the report? The items are currently split to list the different qty by location but doesn't list the actual location. Would it be possible to have the location as a selection field in the report generator so that a seperate report can be printed for each location?
