How to reset an account
Submitted by Guest on Tue, 02/12/2008 - 08:22
Hello,
I 've made some "tests" with a acccount of a customer. Now, I'd like to remove all the datas I've put inside and to start "from scratch".
Is it possible ?
Thanks.
Daniel.
RE: How to reset an account
There is no way in the application itself to delete finalised accounting transactions for a customer. The only approach would be to delete the associated data through the database backend using sql but you would need to be very careful with this approach.
Typically when testing I would suggest creating a separate OpenVPMS application instance and database. How to do this has been described in the forums I believe. This way you can create a setup database, back it up, restore to a different database and run as many tests on it without interfering with your production data.
If you some help setting this up just yell. If you decide you need to remove data from the existing database please post a topic in the developers forum and we will try and give you some pointers on how best to do this.
Cheers Tony
