New Recall Feature
Submitted by tony on Thu, 10/08/2023 - 12:29
Hi All,
We are looking at developing a new Recall feature which allows products to generate one or more tasks in specified Worklists.
The basic design concept :
- A new Task tab on the product.
- Ability to Add one or more Tasks including:
- Period i.e 1 Week, 3 Month
- Interactive. On/Off. If Interactive give user option to remove or change period. Otherwise automatically add task.
- Option of Followup or Worklist.
- Followup: Add to the default Followup Worklist for the current clinician or location.
- Worklist: Add to a specific Worklist (Dropdown)
- Task Type: Ability to stipulate a specific task type or None.
On billing a product with defined tasks prompt users with list of interactive tasks to deselect or modify. Create the selected and automated tasks in the nominated worklists.
A bit of detail to work through i.e what happens if no followup worklists defined etc, Location specific worklists, but hoping to get some feedback from the community on how they see it might best work.

Re: New Recall Feature
Hi Tony,
This sounds like the ideal solution for a couple of workflow problems we have been dealing with: creating a follow up call when an owner should be coming up due to order more compounded medications; processes post euthanasia (cancel future appointments & reminders / tasks, send a condolence card etc).
I can't add much to your design concept. It seems pretty much how I would envisage it working. (But past experience suggests that probably means I'm not seeing all the ways that people will misuse it & just get it wrong).
Great idea.
Enjoy your weekend,
Chris
Re: New Recall Feature
Thanks Chris,
Hopefully we can get some more feedback from the community to get the specification right. :-)

Re: New Recall Feature
Love new features.
Can I play devil's advocate for a bit though? We currently can specify reminders from the product window as well as follow-ups from the schedules.
How will a follow-up differ from say a LIST reminder? It seems to me a LIST reminder already covers most of what we are discussing. Its only that the List has to be generated - its not dynamic.
We use reminders like the following:
Exam shows dental disease => schedule a Dental Due Reminder => sends email asking client to book surgery via phone.
Performa a Dental => schedule a 6mth dental recheck -> sends email asking client to book the recheck (online if they like)
I mean clinician follow-ups are all well and good but let me be honest a 3mth medication follow-up is going to be performed by my nurses NOT me. I don't mean the appointment I mean the task of calling the client to follow up.
I do like the idea of products rather than schedules calling out for followups.
Re: New Recall Feature
Hi Ben,
I also thought that List reminders would be sufficient but tasks have the benefit of staying around until marked as completed and being in a location that is commonly used by staff for other types of followups/tasks.
The other benefit is multiple followups can be generated simultaneously (surgery followup after 3 days, 1 week, 4 weeks) rather than a single reminder with multipe counts which rely on the first reminder to be processed prior to subsequent reminders appearing. You can do this with reminders but need to have different reminder types setup which adds complexity.

Re: New Recall Feature
The only thing I think would be huge would be a Day view that can MIX a schedule and a worklist
Currently clinics use a fake schedule for followup calls so they can see them in the view.
But a view that can add 1 or more worklists to a column would be huge. But understandably complex
Re: New Recall Feature
Oh and also a change to the STATUS column of worklists
Show toe time in more than just minutes
ie
STATUS
Waiting(2312.4) --> Waiting(4d3h12m) or simplified to (4d) for example
