Reporting on Appointment types
Submitted by YarraRanges on Sun, 18/09/2011 - 22:29
I was wondering how others report on After Hour appointment types. We pay our vets a % of after hour services, and I was thinking the way to record/find these visits at the end of each month, was to have an appointment type called---"after hours"
Can you then search the data base for" appointment type"
If not, how do others find, their after hours vet calls

Re: Reporting on Appointment types
Hi Paul,
We can definitely develop a report for after hours visits by either appointment type or date/time range. I assume you would then also want to find out the total services for each vet. Wondering if it was better to utilise some of the existing clinician financial reports and to create specific "after hours" clinicians to tag charges with. i.e. Usuallay you would select PM but after hours select PMAH when billing ?
Cheers

Re: Reporting on Appointment types
Hi Tony,
There is probably no need for Total Services for each vet, as I need to find each appointment, go and look at what has been charged, has it been paid, was an after hours nurse involved, etc etc.
I am not sure what you mean by creating "after hours " clinicians. Are you suggesting we create a duplicate clinician for each and every vet, thus moving from 4 clinicians to 8. That would make the drop down list too long, for a selection that occurs 5 or 6 times per month

Re: Reporting on Appointment types
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the additional information. I was suggesting using different clinicians but only if you wanted to report on services generated directly rather than the way you have now indicated you process after hours work.
Obviously a report could be written that details appointments filtered by Appointment Type for specific date ranges. Is this all you require ?
I assume you currently tag after hours appointments with a specific appointment type ?
Cheers Tony
Re: Reporting on Appointment types
Hi Tony,
Yes, We would mark each after hours exercise as an "AfterHours Consultation"
So, to be able to search that appointment type with date criterea would be fabulous.

Re: Reporting on Appointment types
Hi Paul,
I have added a new report to the shared resources area called "Clinician Appointment Type report". http://www.openvpms.org/customisation/clinician-appointment-type
Hopefully it does what you need but yell if doesn't. :-)
Cheers Tony
