Scheduled computer health checks

How about offering scheduled on site (or remote ?) Open VPMS and practice computer health checks every 3 months (or more frequently if required). I think most practices would go with this. Key items would be:
- Checking automatic back up is working.
- Checking anti virus and anti- malware systems are working.
- Installing latest upgrades for Open VPMS.
- Adding new reports for Open VPMS (as required).
- Outlining new Open VPMS features.

- Any other things of importance as determined by the computer guys.

I know that it can be easy for many vets to get caught up in other work and let things slide. A regular scheduled visit would stimulate better uptake of new features and reports. I think this would be a real win - win.

Scheduled computer health

 Hi Jim,

These are all great things to arrange inside your practice but these are issues that need to be handled by your local integrator and are really outside OpenVPMS's sphere of influence.

I think it would be good for OpenVPMs to supply more detailed videos and documentation about existing and new features.  Will promise to work on these:

Cheers

Tony

Re: Scheduled computer health checks

I agree. This all can be done remotely and does not take a lot of time. I would add to this checking the hardware is functioning correctly, it is easy for 1 or 2 HD's to go off line and nobody knowing then murphy strikes!! I am sure there is software out there that can monitor this.Chris On Mon, Sep 13, 2010 at 5:37 PM, <turravet@tech2u.com.au> wrote:
