Error message trying to preview/print odt files

Hi,

I am trying to get odt files to print such as vaccinations or desexing certificates - I have not tested this part before

However when I click on either vaccination or desexing certificate in the worklist screens rather than a print box I get the following error

Create Process: soffice.exe - headless - accept=socket, host=localhost, port 8100; urp; error=2.

rather than the print box coming up.

OpenVPMS on Linux

I am attempting to install OpenVPMS on Linux. I have Tomcat installed, but when it looks at the war file, it has a dummy spit. I am running Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 64bit, and I do remember reading somewhere that the Ubuntu packaged version of Tomcat has an issue that doesn't agree with OpenVPMS.

I am a Linux guru, but I have never used Tomcat before, and I thought I should ask the question before going on my own little quest to find the issue.

Invoice - client notes on base

Is there any way we can allow more extensive (unlimited ?) comments on base of invoice ? At the moment there is a limited amount that can be
written - and we are finding this leads to poor communication / comm breakdown on patient treatment plans. Obviously it is more time consuming to write a seperate letter with the plan.

Client base data

How do you find out your total number of clients ? How do you get a break down for client
referral (how client found us) ?

RSS feeds

Hi Matt,

I was wondering if you could explain the way RSS feeds work and how they might be useful for our users?

Cheers,
Matt C

Installation questions:

Posted on behalf of Geoff from questions:

Hi,

I have managed to install Openvpms on Windows 2000 workstation without problem and it appears to be functioning correctly. It is a new install with no data transfered as looking at using it in a practice currently on a card system. Several queries:
1. When I enter prices under products they have dollar symbols in front of them. But when entered into suppliers they have pound symbols and appear on invoices as pounds rather than dollars.
2. How do I get the GST to appear on invoices, etc

first time setup

Hi I have downloaded openvpms to show it to a friend who is looking for a software for her Veterinary Practice in South Africa. I have however not been able to run it localy.

Tried instalation on
Windows XP SP 2 virtual machine, Mysql 5.0, JDK 6ud6, tomcat 6.0, openvpms 1.1
Kubuntu 7.10, mysql 5 , java and tomcat of update site
Ubuntu 8.04, mysql, tomcat and java off update site

The instalation I have managed to achieve without error mesages, although the shell scripts for linux did give some hassles, I eventualy ran the comands dirrectly from the prompt

price rise

Hi Tony,

can you do a mass update on our fixed price dispensing fees, and increase them all by $1.00.

Thanks, Bruce. _______________________________________________ OpenVPMS User Mailing List users@lists.openvpms.org To unsubscribe or change your subscription visit: http://lists.openvpms.org/mailman/listinfo/users

OpenVPMS version 1.2 beta 1 released

Dear User List,

We are pleased to announced the Beta release of version 1.2 of the OpenVPMS open source veterinary software solution.

If you are interested in beta testing this new release you can download it from http://maven.openvpms.org/org.openvpms/zips/openvpms-release-1.2-beta-1.zip

You can find documentation on how to update from version 1.1 to version 1.2 here:

http://confluence.openvpms.org/confluence/display/VPMSPROJ/Updating+OpenVPMS+to+1.2-Beta-1

The major changes in this release are:

Login conflict

I have just set up a test rig using V1.1

It appears that I can login the same username from two different workstations at the same time. It means that I can have say, two Admins running simultaneously. Doesn't seem right.

Can anyone advise? Do I have a setup problem?

Thanks Bob
