Transfer to a new server

Hello all,

Over the last week we have been in the process of moving the OpenVPMS websites, mailing lists and email to a new server in order to provide a more reliable and hopefully faster service. During this time there have been a few issues with lost connection between the mailing lists and forums and at present there is an issue with file uploads on the website.

In the last couple of days some of you may have tried unsuccessfully to mail to the user or developers mailing list. You may not have even received a message if your message didn't make it to the list.

Deliveries entry

Not sure if anyone is using the orders/deliveries module yet but if you are can you have a look at this and see if you can help

We have entered several orders which go over about 5 pages. On going to delivery, we accept delivery of one of those orders, complete and post it. Later if we go back to deliveries and start to accept the next part of the order/delivery for checking we find that the first part of the order that has been through delivery and posted is still on the order list – previously this has not been the case.

Email contacts for newsletters

We have been collecting emails since the start and now want to use this information to send email newsletters. How do we extract the email information and unique customer identifier (customer number) ?

Orders Module (Automatic interaction with wholesalers)

Hi everyone,

Boronia VC has been in discussion with Lyppards (one of our founding sponsors) for some time now about automating price updates and integrating our ordering and receipt of stock. Our hope is that in working this process through in the forums may create the opportunity to create a solution that will have application for other forward thinking veterinary wholesalers.

Orders module

When entering large orders we have found we need to split them into smaller ones because we get a message ""Failed to Save Order - Java Heap Space". Does this mean we have spent too much!! Is this because there is a certain amount of memory attributed to an order - if so can it be enlarged?

Sydney Open VPMS seminar Tuesday April 28th

Free Seminar - An Introduction to OpenVPMS - Sydney Metropolitan Practitioners Branch of AVA Sponsored by Novartis

An exciting new approach to Veterinary Practice Management Software OpenVPMS is an established Practice Management Software system, sponsored & developed by a not for profit co-operative of veterinary industry participants in response to growing concerns about the existing veterinary software industry. If you are considering software for your practice or changing your software this seminar is for you.

Stock control

I want to monitor stock use. We entered stock levels for the first time on high theft risk products about 2 weeks ago. (These are small size, high price items like Advantix, Frontline, Revolution, etc). We obviously order in new product and want to tally up our product consumption based on vet stock supply data (from our vet supplier) and stock level (on computer) versus actual stock on hand. We would do this monthly.

1) How do we do this ?
2) If we modify stock levels, is a record of stock use stored in Open VPMS (or does it simply give a "snapshot" of what we have right now) ?
