I do many demonstrations of OpenVPMS, and have been involved with many OpenVPMS implementations, and I thought I would outline the top feature requests I get from these two groups of users.  Please note I have not included any features that have been delivered in release 1.5 such as Electronic ordering etc.

From the potential new user perspective they are looking to replicate or exceed their current systems capabilities or at least the ones that they currently utilise.  Here are the top features potential users would like to see :

I have been involved with OpenVPMS since it's inception in 2005 and through its first tentative steps till now where it has to be considered a comprehensive, quality software solution for veterinary practices.  During this initial growing period I was never concerned about its success as it had enough people who where genuinely committed to making it work.   As with all community driven projects without these people OpenVPMS would not exist.

Attaching documents to products

Hi,

I would like to attach a request form to certain products on our system. There are 76 products that I want to attach it to. Is there a more efficient way of doing this rather than selecting, editing and adding the document 76 times to the products?

Somebody know make a sum in the invoice between tax + total of invoice for get a "Gran Total"

total:          $50.00

tax:             $3.50

gran total:  $53.50

Hi Nick,
I think these are both wonderful ideas and would help a practice no end in several different ways. The email thing can be done OK at the moment manually as has been pointed out to me but the SMS functionality would be great. I would be a supporter of this, but I am not sure that the developers can do it for some and not for all.

I have long been a proponent of having these functionailities included in the program but once again due to lack of interest they have not been included in this release.

Is wonder are there a few users out there who would be prepared to share the costs in funding these (SMS $4950 and Email $2830) andn then maybe we could get the developers to arrange a limited upgrade for those who contributed.

Any offers or thoughts?

Customer Aquisition Report (take 2)

Thought I would post this question that I put up a while ago that I did not get a reply to. Can anyone help? Might be one for Tony perhaps?

"I have just started using the Customer Aquisition Report for find out how many new clients we have had in a particular period. I was wondering if we could add another field to allow us to filter only those who have spent money. We add a lot of clients on to the system when they make enquiries but many of these do not actually convert to sales.

Access Levels on OpenVPMS

Hi,

In 'USERS' we have 4 x categories listed, ADMINISTRATOR, NURSE, RECEPTIONIST & CLINICIAN. I don't know what access levels these categories have. How can I check this and how do I edit categories to allow access to different areas?

I want to give some staff access to TEMPLATES for example, but I don't want staff to have access to editing products.
