VPMS softwares are meant to improve practice management and client communication as well as being repositories for client/patient accounts and histories. Open VPMS does the latter well but after using it for 9 months I still find some of the other functionality either lacking or time consuming.

I know some of the points I am raising may have been raised before but would like to see whether others are thinking along the same lines. If they are then the way this forum has proved itself in the past may fast track some items.

Am I correct in my interpretation that *any* usage of OpenVPMS requires a subscription? And any forking of the source would also require a subscription, correct?

Some of our products have more than one fixed price. One of the fixed prices is ticked as the default fixed price and as a result this price is automatically selected when charging the product.

When printing a product price list the default fixed price is not listed. The price that is listed appears to be the most expensive fixed price associated with the product. Is there a way of having the default fixed price appearing on our product price list?

I have some products I have purchased from a human wholesaler for which there is no GST applied by the wholesaler. There doesn't appear to be an obvious way to deal with these in the deliveries workspace. The GST is being automatically applied to the purchase price.

They need to have no GST applied on arrival but have GST charged when sold. Any ideas on how I can overcome this?

I am trying to set upthe new version of OpenVPMS. Never used it before. It says "include the following lines in my.ini
max_allowed_packet=16M, innodb_file_per_table". I dont see a "my.ini" named configuration setting file under MySQL Server 5.0. There is however "my-innodb-heavy-4G" and "my" files.Can you guide me on this. And where do you add these lines actually?

Was wondering if anyone else was having problems with Copying and Pasting a drug label. When i go into a previous visit where there is a label and want to redispence this med with the same dosage, i copy and paste onto new drug label. When i do this the label is printing blank. Can you usually copy and paste labels in Openvpms and i am just having trouble because the old label is from visualvet aid.

I'm not sure of this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong.

When I try to copy a medication if it has a stock location set it generates this error: Failed to validate Stock Locations of Medication: Duplicate active stock location relationship

If there is no stock location set it copies fine.

Having just come over from Visual Vetaid. Would anyone else like a receipted invoice. This show the amount the client has paid inrelation to the a particular invoice and then has the total balance at the bottom either of $0 or what is left to pay. Just as you get when you go to a supermarket etc ( not that the supermarket lets you go without paying). Having a receipted invoice would save a little time and paper.

I also find the reciepts that prints difficult when the customer has paid by cash.

When you have a desexing reminder on a patient and they come in for desexing does it automaticly come off that patient. If not is there away to make the reminder remove automaticly or does it alway have to be done manually.
